A laboring instead of remembering, and an artistic versus knowledge.
I visited my Chinese friend, Tong Wu. He was learning new english words over and over again to help him memorize them. This is common way to learn new english vocabularies for Chinese ESL students. There was an economic reason why Tong wrote tiny words and no space in between. He normally threw away his writing after completed the full page.
